Public Sector Schools get Content Development by Microsoft & Cisco

Students and School System in Pakistan

Minister of state for IT and Telecom Mrs. Anusha Rehman recently held a meeting with State Minister of Capital Administration and Development Division (CAAD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudry regarding Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and content development for Public sector schools.

She said that for true materialization of our vision to accelerate digitization, it is necessary that all those ICT opportunities which are available to Private sector students should also be available for the public sector students. Official seniors from MoIT, CAAD and Representatives from Microsoft and Cisco were also present in the meeting.

Microsoft and Cisco have consented to partner the Government to help in this content development program while Ministry of IT is ready to provide all possible assistance to CAAD in this new expansion.

It was stated by Dr. Fazal Chaudry that CADD will be going to upgrade Public sector Schools in Federal Capital within next year and ICT infrastructure and connectivity will also be provided to these schools.

They have also decided in the meeting that a “joint working group” headed by Jr (Education) CADD and a senior member of MoIT with one representative from Microsoft and cisco will be included in this group which will be constituted immediately.

Microsoft and Cisco agreed to provide assistance and downloadable content of ICT free of cost to the students.

This initiative will be very helpful for Students of Public Sector School as they will also get an opportunity to compete with Students of Private sector Schools who already had been facilitated with all these advancements.
