PTCL to offer WiFi Modem with new DSL connection

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited or PTCL has decided to offer WiFI modem, with new DSL connection, except 256 Kbps and 1 Mbps Student packages.

How to replace DSL modem to WiFi modem or Router ? Existing PTCL broadband users, without WiFi modems, will have to pay Rs. 750 to upgrade their simple modem to WiFi modem, monthly DSL charges will remain same for existing users.

Beside this offer PTCL has also increased the tariff for new 1 Mbps package from Rs. 1199 per month to Rs. 1,250 per month. Existing 1 MBPS customers will keep paying the normal rate that is Rs. 1199 per month.

The monthly rental for WiFi Modems is now waived off against one time charge of Rs. 750 /-

Bundled packages (Double Up and Double Impact etc.) and triple-play services will be provided free of cost Wi-Fi modem upon installation and there will be no monthly recurring charges.

1 Mbps new Monthly Charges:

• Rs. 1,250 per month
• Free Wi-Fi modem

In addition to increase in 1Mbps package charges for new customers only, following changes will be applicable from March 5, 2012 as part of free Wi-Fi policy, existing 1Mbps customers will continue to pay Rs. 1,199 per month.

Wi-Fi modems will be provided to new customers of all packages excluding 256Kbps and 1Mbps Student package, and there will be no monthly recurring charges.

All existing subscribers irrespective of their packages will be charged Rs. 750 as modem up-gradation charges, and their package charges will remain as per policy, existing Wi-Fi customers will continue to pay as per existing policy.

• 256 Kbps at Rs 399* (Unlimited download till 30th June 2012)
• 1 Mbps at Rs. 949 (Broadband Student basic package available for Rs.949 per month)
• 1 Mbps at Rs 1250
• 2 Mbps at Rs 1499
• 4 Mbps at Rs 1999
• 6 Mbps at Rs 4999
• 8 Mbps at Rs 6999
• 10 Mbps at Rs 9999

10 mbps VDSL unlimited downloads:

• Package Price Rs.9,999 & installation Charges inclusive of Modem Charges: Rs.10,000

20 mbps VDSL unlimited downloads:

• Package Price Rs.15,000 & installation Charges inclusive of Modem Charges: Rs.10,000

50 mbps VDSL unlimited downloads:

• Package Price Rs.20,000 & istallation Charges inclusive of Modem Charges: Rs.10,000

Free Wi-Fi Modem on all New Connection. & existing user can get Wi-Fi modem by paying Rs.750 one time charges.

Note: For Quality Assurance Purposes and to provide uninterrupted service to all customers, Rs. 5,000 per month will be charged for greater than 300 GBs Downloads / Uploads. This monthly data limit is applicable on 1 Mbps to 8 Mbps DSL Connections.
