Punjab Education Foundation, in collaboration with Punjab Information Technology Board, successfully launches pilot project of Student Information System (SIS).
SIS is an online web application which keeps up-to-date information of PEF Partner schools. Earlier PEF provided the desktop version of SIS to its partner schools. Partner schools fed the data in software and provide back to PEF in CD format.
Now using online web application PEF and Partners school can add, view, and update records from one central place.
SIS provides following services:
- Students' Registration
- Computerized Online Attendance (Android App based)
- Mobile Phone readable Student ID Cards
PEF's Student Information System provides the computerization of the data of students and computerized attendance of students studying in partner schools under (EVS) Education Voucher Scheme in the provincial metropolis.
Under the computerized attendance project, Punjab Education Foundation has provided android smart phones which are equipped with the attendance application provided by the Punjab Information Technology Board.
Students daily attendance will be marked through GPRS enabled smart phone and will be immediately sent to the PEF Server through internet. This attendance will be directly uploaded into the database through GPRS and can be viewed through web.
PITB has also provided students identity cards with specific bar codes. These cards are mobile phone readable.
