LG Electronics, in collaboration with Mobilink launched the state-of-the-art Google Nexus phone in Pakistan. The phone will be financed and distributed in market and to Mobilink by Brightex Distribution.

Pakistan General Elections 2013: How to Vote on Polling Day ?

One of the most critical step to bring change in Pakistan is to get your votes registered for next general elections in Pakistan.

The electoral rolls data, based on the house listing was compiled by the Election Commission of Pakistan and, was handed over to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), which prepared draft electoral rolls on the basis of CNIC data available with them. These rolls were then sent for door-to-door verification through school teachers appointed by the ECP as Verifying Officials.

Form-A was devised to register the names and details of those eligible voters whose names were missing from the draft rolls and identified during the door-to- door verification process. Form-B was used to delete the names of those who were found to have died since the last updating of the rolls. Verified data was sent to NADRA for incorporation of updated information, which was then used to prepare preliminary rolls that were put on display for 21 days at Display Centers established across the country.

Jhelum River Hydro-Power: Pakistan's first Hydroelectric project powered by IBM

Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) Remaco, the operator of Pakistan's first private sector hydroelectric power scheme, has tapped IBM (NYSE:IBM) to help meet the business challenges of running the $235 million plant. TNB Remaco chose IBM software to help streamline business operations.

Currently, the total power generation capacity of Pakistan is 23,538 Mega Watt with energy consumption having grown by almost 80 percent in the last 15 years. The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) forecasts the country’s electricity demand will increase to around 40,000 MW by 2020.

TNB Remaco - Operation and Maintenance Contract Partner with builder Laraib Energy Limited - recently completed the 84 MW New Bong Hydroelectric Power Complex on the Jhelum River in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. After going live at the end of March 2013, the plant is expected to help meet Pakistan's growing energy needs by adding an estimated net annual of 540 GWh green energy to the national grid, and enhancing the hydro power generation capacity of Independent Power Producers (IPP) by 40 percent. The addition of this power source will be able to provide cheaper electricity to an estimated 60,000 homes in Pakistan.

Ufone and PCB sign MoU to nurture fast bowlers in the country

Ufone has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to invest into the cricket talent pool of Pakistan and to provide opportunities for the development and growth of young Pakistani fast bowlers.

Ufone Re-Launched Summer Internship Program for 2013
