A team of World Bank economic experts visited NetSol Technologies to prepare a case study on NetSol’s success story.
Former Finance Minister and Vice President of World Bank Shahid Javed Burki led the team that included Eric D. Manes, Senior Economist for South Asia Region and Jose R. Lopez-Calix, Lead Economist for Morocco and Algeria.
The purpose of this visit was to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) industry and to understand the policy levers that could help its growth. In this context, the team was particularly interested in understanding NetSol’s success story of emerging as Pakistan’s leading IT software exporter, with a global blue-chip customer base and the only local software development facility assessed at CMMi Level 5, the highest international standard in software process maturity.
Salim Ghauri, CEO NetSol, provided a comprehensive account of NetSol’s history, including key milestones, important decisions and management approach toward challenges and opportunities. The World Bank team appreciated the NetSol management for sharing the company’s success story and for facilitating the ongoing study.
