Google has added a new feature to Google Search, called +1, a new social sharing button that will appear in Google Search results, and it is designed to let you share recommendations within Google Search. The +1 button appears in search results next to search results and also next to Google adverts, and it looks like Google is attempting to take on Facebook and their Like button.
Today we’re taking that a step further, enabling you to share recommendations with the world right in Google’s search results. It’s called +1—the digital shorthand for “this is pretty cool.” To recommend something, all you have to do is click +1 on a webpage or ad you find useful. These +1’s will then start appearing in Google’s search results.
Google have said that they will be rolling out the new Google +1 feature to search starting with English on Google.com, but you can trial the feature now by visiting their experimental search site.
