The Indian cellular network in Afghanistan has started penetrating into Pakistani tribal areas with the sale of SIM cards of Indian and Afghan cellular companies in FATA is adding to the security fears of the country.

According to sources, the SIM cards of cellular network, owned and operated by India, are being sold in North Waziristan Agency, South Waziristan, Bajaur Agency, Kurram Agency, Mohmand Agency and Orakzai Agency. These areas of Pakistan mostly bordering Afghanistan are the most militancy infested ones.

Telenor Pakistan Posts Better Than Expected Q3-2010

In the third quarter of 2010, Telenor Group reported revenues of USD 4.09 billion compared to USD 3.87 billion representing an organic revenue growth of six per cent in local currency, said a statement issued by the group today.

EBITDA margin stood at 33 per cent, and operating cash flow margin remained at 23 per cent.

PTCL’s Q1 Profit Down by 19 % as Revenue Falls

Company’s revenue fell to 13.9 billion rupees from 14.5 billion in same quarter previous year.

Net income fell to 2.08 billion rupees ($24.2 million) in the three months ended September 30, 2010 from 2.57 billion rupees, a year earlier.

Two young boys, who are accused of hacking the Supreme Court’s website, have been arrested by FIA, reported Dawn.

Saim Ali Shah and Salal Ali Shah were arrested by NR3C (FIA’s wing for cyber crimes), after the incident was reported to PTA by Supreme Court’s IT section. PTA had then forwarded the case to FIA, which through NR3C took action and finally traced these two hackers though what it claims “advance technology”. These two hackers were members of the self-proclaimed Cyber Army and Pak Bugs.

Over 70 Million iPhones Sold since Launch

Apple Inc. has announced that in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2010, they have managed to sell 14.1 million handsets.

This really seems to be a big jump from the 8.4 million that they pushed in Q3. Which is 91% growth as compared to that in the last year. At the end of the last quarter, Apple had shipped 60 million units of iPhone handsets, with about 59,550,000 iPhone handsets sold. By adding this on Q4′s 14.1 million, the grand total will be somewhat around 73.5 million iPhone devices.

According to a recent research, 9 out of 10 parents fail to install safety measures on their mobile phones to prevent their children from accessing objectionable material on the internet.

The study was a part of a guide published by Clinical Psychologist and television presenter, Professor Tanya Byron – who has been advising the U.K Government on child internet safety since 2007, in order to advise parents how to go about ensuring their child’s safety on the internet. The guide, which was published by Byron along with retailer Carephone Warehouse, found that 85 per cent of parents had not even bothered to activate locks on their child’s mobile phone and as a result their children are at risk of accessing pornography on mobile phones.
